BERTHOUD, Colo. - June 25, 2009 - Representatives from Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage recently presented board members of Berthoud Habitat for Humanity with a $15,000 check during groundbreaking ceremonies for the organization's next Habitat home at 1712 4th Street in Berthoud. Habitat for Humanity is a preferred charity of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. The $15,000 represents a portion of the funds raised through the leading real estate company's annual Ride the Range bicycle tour and annual charity golf tournament. Donations are distributed to Habitat for Humanity and several other local charities through the Coldwell Banker Community Fund.
The Berthoud Habitat home dedication and groundbreaking ceremony was held on April 25, 2009. Approximately 30 people attended the event, including Rick Haskins, president of the local Habitat board, and Tom Patterson, Berthoud mayor and one of the founders of Berthoud Habitat for Humanity. Todd Moir, Colorado Field Marketing Manager for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, presented the check to Habitat representatives.
"Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is proud to be the financial and volunteer sponsor for this Habitat for Humanity home," said Chris Mygatt, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Colorado. "This remarkable charity is dedicated to helping those in need achieve the great American dream of home ownership and, as a leader in the community, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is committed to raising money and awareness for Habitat for Humanity in Colorado."
"Berthoud Habitat for Humanity is deeply grateful for the generosity of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and the $15,000 donation," said Anne Reichenberg, Berthoud Habitat for Humanity executive consultant. "This gift made it possible to begin our next Habitat home. Thanks to Coldwell Banker, another family can achieve the American dream."
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage's $15,000 donation enabled construction crews and volunteers to complete the basement for the ranch-style home, which is scheduled for completion by year's end. A recipient family has not yet been chosen for the home. Berthoud Habitat for Humanity is part of the non-profit, ecumenical Christian Habitat for Humanity organization dedicated to eliminating poverty housing worldwide. The Berthoud affiliate also has its own thrift store benefiting Habitat for Humanity and the local community. For more information, visit BerthoudHabitat.org.
