Coldwell Banker in Colorado Springs and along the Front Range Participates in "Operation Goodies 4 Troopers"

COLORADO SPRINGS - Real estate professionals with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Colorado Springs and offices along the Front Range are participating in "Operation Goodies 4 Troopers" (OG4T) as a show of appreciation to more than 1,000 great young Americans serving their country in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Coldwell Banker broker associates and managers are gathering and preparing such items as homemade baked goodies and greeting cards from children to help these young military personnel enjoy a "Christmas in July."

"We were asked to participate in Operation Goodies 4 Troopers and we are happily responding," said Ashley Wilson, Relocation Sales Manager for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. "These packages of goodies will help boost their moral while showing our troops that they are supported back home. The operation, spearheaded by Colonel Liz Anderson, hopes to send 1,000 boxes of baked goods by July 12th. This is an excellent opportunity for Coldwell Banker professionals to show their support for these deserving men and women, most of which are under the age of 25 and very much missing their family and friends back home. With approximately 1,400 agents with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Colorado, we can really make an impact and help Colonel Anderson achieve the 1,000 box goal."

Coldwell Banker in Colorado Springs has been serving the real estate needs of military personnel in the area for decades, including men and women stationed at Fort Carson, Peterson Air Force Base, Schriever Air Force Base, the Air Force Academy, and NORAD at Cheyenne Mountain. Personnel stationed by Guantanamo Bay are called "troopers' because they come from all branches of the service, including the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard.

Participants in OG4T can obtain a free priority flat rate box at the post office with a flat rate of about $8 to ship their goodies. If possible, the boxes should be mailed between July 10-12 so they all arrive around the same time. Participants are asked to use multiple flat rate boxes rather than ship larger boxes. Pack the goodies in cling wrap and use bubble wrap or Styrofoam peanuts on the top and bottom so everything arrives in good shape. It's also well above 90 degrees in Cuba, so don't send homemade goodies that melt.

Mail the boxes to the following address: Col Liz Anderson (OG4T), JTF-GTMO/OARDEC, APO AE 09360.

The young military personnel in Cuba need your support. Homesickness is widespread and these boxes of goodies will help boost morale significantly by reminding these young folks that there are a lot of folks who appreciate their service to our great country.
