Moonlight Madness- August 18th There's something wild about cruising on your bike in the middle of the night. Imagine the exhilaration of pedaling through the deserted streets of Denver with the strange light of the moon defining the course for you and thousands of other cyclists. Join us Saturday night, August 18 for this lunar lunacy!
Whether you're an avid cyclist or you're simply looking for a great reason to dust off that bike in your garage, you won't want to miss the 15th Annual Moonlight Classic.
Start - Colorado State Capitol The 15th Annual Moonlight Classic will start and finish at the foot of Colorado's most recognizable landmark at The Colorado State Capitol in downtown Denver. The 15-mile course will tour other landmarks, new and old. The Denver business district, Lower Downtown and the Cherry Creek shopping district will all seem very different by the light of the moon. A shorter 8-mile course will also be available. Registration and the 180 Energy Drink After Hours Cycling Bash will take place on Saturday night from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Start Waves! There will be just two large waves - the early Family Wave for riders who want to still get a little sleep when they finish and the Gonzo Wave for those who want to enjoy the true nocturnal splendor of Denver. We recommend that cyclists choose a wave that includes riders who are likely to pedal at a similar speed and mentality to your own.
The Ride will start at 10:30pm (yes it's at night) and we will organize a Coldwell Banker meeting place ahead of time. Watch for more information to come shortly.
